On 9 February 2022 Marantz announced their 40n Integrated Amplifier, improving on the Model 30 launched in 2020.
Available from March 2022, units released for review and testing purposes have been met with positive feedback and have even been praised for the sound quality produced.
The “n” in the model’s name signifies network capability, and the amplifier is advertised as a one-box audio hub for an entire home or single room – or as Marantz puts it… “Just add speakers”.
It’s fitted with an integrated amplifier, DAC (Digital-to-Analog converter), headphone outputs, a phono stage (for vinyl playback), music streaming capabilities and cabled or wireless network connectivity. Other inputs include optical, coaxial digital and HDMI ARC, and the unit also has a dedicated subwoofer output with an adjustable crossover frequency.
As for the streaming functionality, the unit supports Spotify, Apple Airplay 2, Pandora, Deezer, Tidal, Bluetooth, WiFi, and even local playback through a USB type A input. It also includes Marantz’s own HEOS tech, allowing you to play the same or different songs in multiple zones around your home.
The internal amplification provides 70W per channel and can process up to 24bit/192kHz signals.
The attractive amplifier carries forward a similar aesthetic to the model 30 and is available in Black or Silver Gold. It’s shipped with a remote control and supports Siri, Google, Alexa, and Josh AI voice command platforms.
In short, the Marantz Model 40n is a true all-in-one integrated amplifier that will give you full control over, and allow for a truly flexible and powerful audio experience.
